RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES, NEED IS URGENT
Blood donations tend to drop over the busy summer months. Sue Thesenga with the American Red Cross is asking you to roll up a sleeve this month and give the gift of life. She says there is an urgent need for Type-O blood donations right now. The bloodmobile is taking donations today (Wednesday) from 10-4 at Springfield High School. Thursday donations will be taken at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville from 1 – 7 and at First Presbyterian Church in St. James Thursday from noon to 6 and Friday from 8 to noon. Glenn Paul Ferguson, a man of few words, yet profound wisdom, born to Junior and Germaine Ferguson in Winona on February 7, 1959, took his last breath at Watkins Hospice on July 15, 2024. Graduating with honors from the Music Technical College in Minneapolis, where he honed his mastery of the guitar, Glenn's musical talents became a tapestry of beauty and emotion. Le Sueur Fire Department invites families to open house
Local families beat the heat with the Le Sueur Fire Department on Saturday during the Fire Hall open house. The event gave children a chance to meet area firefighters and tour the department’s fire trucks. Kids kept cool in the summer sun playing beneath a shower pouring from the fire truck’s aerial ladder and spraying each other with low pressure hoses in kids water fights.
