Official urges city to move on downtown project
A leader of a downtown Union organization urged the city’s Board of Aldermen to keep a proposed project alive. The city previously rejected an offer from Illinois developer WGO Investments LLC, with officials saying at the time the rejection was part of the negotiation. WGO is looking to develop part of a vacant city-owned lot just north of city hall with bars and restaurants. As part of the proposal, the city would construct a farmers market pavilion and create open space on the site.
St. Clair man injured in crash outside New Haven
A St. Clair man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The patrol reported that at approximately 5:06 a.m. a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling westbound on Deerwood Trail, near Stone Church Road, southwest of New Haven when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, through the front yard of 5030 Stone Church Road and into a ditch.
Mo. firefighter pleads guilty to stealing from crash victim
ST. LOUIS, Mo. —A remorseful St. Louis firefighter confessed Monday in St. Louis County Circuit Court that he stole a wallet and credit card from the scene of a fatal crash. Saying his actions put a “stain on the community and the department,” Arnold S. Britt, 41, of Ballwin, pleaded guilty to both a felony and a misdemeanor.

The farm fables books will be brought by Don’s Jewelry & Design. The market begins at 5 pm and goes until 7:30 pm. Two teens hospitalized after car strikes semi's trailer on I-70
RUSSELL COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 11a.m. Tuesday in Russell County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Dodge Neon driven by Christopher T. Ford, 18, Hillsboro, Missouri was westbound on Interstate 70 just east of the Gorham exit in the passing lane when it caught up to another vehicle.

Washington Rotary holds early bird raffle
Last week, the Washington Rotary Club held its early bird drawing for the 24th Annual Bill Kluenser Memorial Car Raffle. Clayton Kuhn, of St. Louis, was the winner. The drawing was held Thursday with Founding Rotarian Member Sam Farrell pulling the winning ticket. Rotarian Donna Klott was recognized as selling the winning ticket. Kuhn was awarded $1,000.

Midas Construction Tops Off 227-Unit Luxury Apartment Complex in Ellisville, Missouri
ELLISVILLE, MO. — Midas Construction has topped off MILA Apartments in Ellisville, a far west suburb of St. Louis. The four-story, 227-unit luxury apartment complex is slated for completion in summer 2025. Midas Hospitality and Balke Brown are developing the project with affiliates Double Eagle Development and Diamond Income Fund. Designed by Rosemann & Associates, the property will feature a 141,000-square-foot parking garage. There will be eight floor plans ranging in size from 552 to 1,363 square feet. Amenities will include a courtyard, pool, bike storage, dog park, business center and fitness room. The project site was formerly home to a car dealership.
