Police: Man threatened to kill employees at Oasis Community Recovery Club
SHAMOKIN — A city man has been charged with threatening to kill employees at Oasis Community Recovery Club on Friday afternoon. Nicholas Bartholomew, 31, of 720 Race St., was arraigned at 2:30 p.m. Friday by on-call Magisterial District Judge William Cole, of Mount Carmel, on misdemeanors of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct filed by Patrolman Derek Jenkins. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

MOUNT CARMEL — Lorraine H. Horsfield, 88, of 305-311 S. Chestnut St., Mount Carmel, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Atlas on Nov. 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Klueznik) Colross. She was a lifelong resident of both Atlas and Mount Carmel.
Motorcyclist killed in wrong-way crash with SUV in Lebanon County
A 39-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday after driving the wrong way down a Lebanon street and crashing into an SUV, police said. Alfredo Pizarro-Franco was driving against traffic on Hanover Street and had just gone through the Mifflin Street intersection without stopping when the crash happened around 8:30 p.m., according to police.
Lansford man showed gun during incident at store, police say
Coaldale police said that a Lansford man took a bag of candy from a borough convenience store and began eating it without paying for it. When a clerk asked John Shubeck Jr., 23, to pay for the candy, Coaldale police said Shubeck lifted up his shirt to show a gun and then fled.
