Sharrow Marine in St. Clair Shores Launches New Propeller for Mercury V10s

Sharrow Marine in St. Clair Shores has launched the Sharrow X10 Propeller series, now available for the Mercury V10, 350, and 400 hp engines.

This addition to the Sharrow Propeller lineup is available in both three- and four-blade configurations, with designs specifically engineered to the different performance needs and preferences of boaters with Mercury V10s.

The Sharrow X10 Propeller is designed to provide improved handling and allows boats to get on and stay on plane at a lower speed and reduced RPMs at cruising speeds compared to traditional propellers for Mercury V10 motors. With the patented design that reduces drag and maximizes propulsion efficiency, boaters can expect between 10 percent and 30 percent fuel savings and a quieter boating experience with a dramatic reduction in noise and vibration, minimizing disturbance to marine life and enhancing onboard comfort.

“With the introduction of the Sharrow X10, we are delivering on our commitment to provide propeller solutions that meet the diverse needs of boaters for a market sector that has been eagerly awaiting a Sharrow Propeller design,” says Greg Sharrow, founder and CEO of Sharrow Engineering and Sharrow Marine. “Our new X10 series for Mercury V10s offers superior performance, greater fuel efficiency, and a significantly quieter ride, setting a new standard for propulsion.”

Ford Pro Demand Drives F-Series Super Duty Production Expansion to Canada

Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn has announced plans to assemble F-Series Super Duty pickups at its Oakville Assembly Complex in Ontario, Canada, starting in 2026, boosting production of one of the company’s most popular and profitable vehicles.

The move to add production of up to 100,000 units of its best-selling Super Duty to Oakville expands Super Duty production across three plants in North America, including Kentucky Truck Plant and Ohio Assembly Plant, which are operating at full capacity. It also paves the way to bring multi-energy technology to the next generation of Super Duty trucks, giving customers more freedom of choice and supporting Ford’s electrification plans.

“Super Duty is a vital tool for businesses and people around the world and, even with our Kentucky Truck Plant and Ohio Assembly Plant running flat out, we can’t meet the demand,” says Jim Farley, president and CEO of Ford. “This move benefits our customers and supercharges our Ford Pro commercial business. At the same time, we look forward to introducing three-row electric utility vehicles, leveraging our experience in three-row utility vehicles and our learnings as America’s No. 2 electric vehicle brand to deliver fantastic, profitable vehicles.”

In total, Ford plans to invest approximately $3 billion to expand Super Duty production, including $2.3 billion to install assembly and integrated stamping operations at Oakville Assembly Complex. When complete, Oakville Assembly Complex will be a fully flexible plant.

Boosting Super Duty assembly will initially secure approximately 1,800 Canadian jobs at Oakville Assembly Complex, 400 more than would initially have been needed to produce the three-row electric vehicle. Unifor-represented employees at Oakville Assembly Complex will return to work in 2026, a full year earlier than previously planned.

The increased production also adds approximately 150 jobs at Windsor Engine Complex, which will manufacture more V-8 engines for Super Duty.

In Related News : Ford Pro is introducing the Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle to California, one of America’s larger commercial fleet markets.

The Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle aims to help California businesses with electric vehicles in their fleet while improving operations and reducing upfront and ongoing EV charging costs. The bundle offers a complimentary Ford Pro Level 2 48-amp charger or a Level 2 80-amp charger for depot and workplace charging to businesses subscribed to Ford Pro Charging software.

The new automated demand-to-grid response solution in Ford Pro’s Charging Software reacts to grid events in California such as high local demand by automatically pausing charging, alerting the customer, and resuming charging when the event is over. This can help reduce the burden on the grid and reduce the risk of brownouts and blackouts for a more resilient power system. Ford Pro will manage the enrollment process for customers in California grid demand response programs that manage grid capacity, energy programs, and emergency load programs as well as the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) carbon credits program.

BioVigil in Ann Arbor Launches New, More Durable Badge for Health Care Industry

BioVigil, a provider of electronic hand hygiene technology solutions in Ann Arbor, has redesigned its user badges with upgraded sensing technology, stronger durability, and extended battery power, giving users better functionality for system-wide hand hygiene monitoring and compliance.

BioVigil uses beacons that interact with individual user badges to monitor when health care workers enter and exit a patient room, and when they perform hand hygiene either with hand sanitizer or soap and water. When the user passes their hand over the badge, a sensor in the badge detects whether hands are clean, the badge light turns green, and the user earns credit for the hand hygiene opportunity.

BioVigil’s new badge uses an upgraded sensor. The engineering and IT team developed new technology that reinforces proper engagement with the badge to earn compliance.

BioVigil engineers also redesigned the badge to work with an enhanced battery that charges faster and lasts longer on each charge.

In addition to sensor and battery changes, the new badges are resilient to cleaning solutions, so users can sanitize the badges without damaging the sensitive internal circuit boards. The new BioVigil badge has received UL certification for use in the United States and Canada. Full production begins this month and rollout begins immediately after that.
