BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — One Belmont County business has received some sweet statewide recognition.

Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream in St. Clairsville has received a spot on the map of Ohio’s Ice Cream Trail.

To be on the trail, you must make the ice cream on site–which they do– and you must be nominated for your excellent product–which they were.

They are number 44 on the map.

This is the first time that Belmont County has been included on this Tourism Trail and we are so thrilled that it’s featuring Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream. The trail includes over 50 stops through the state of Ohio. And really, Kirke’s is one of the only in our southeastern region that’s on the trail.”

Jackee Pugh, Executive Director, Belmont County Tourism

On the trail map, there’s a description of each stop.

For Kirke’s, it says, “cones and dishes are sold by the ounce rather than the scoop, so the only limit is the size of your imagination.”

By the way, Belmont County has a lot of tourism events happening on Saturday.

There’s a fishing derby at Barkcamp with sign-in at noon and the contest from 1 to 4, with all ages welcome.

And there’s a Summer Celebration at Piedmont, with everything from Bingo to Pickleball.
