ST. CLOUD — Stearns County Jail booking records show the sheriff’s department was holding a 23-year-old man on suspicion of underage sex with two teenagers in St. Cloud.
Law enforcement identified him as Yasin Abdulkadir and said they arrested him on July 16 in Nebraska.
"Abdulkadir was arrested by out-of-state law enforcement and transported back to Stearns County on the arrest warrant and booked into our jail," Stearns County Investigations Lt. Zach Sorenson said. "The original investigation was completed by the St. Cloud Police Department."
Abdulkadir was taken into custody after authorities were initially uncertain of his whereabouts, which led to the criminal complaint being filed before his arrest. He was arrested in Nebraska and his jail records list a Nebraska address.
St. Cloud police learned of Abdulkadir when responding to two runaway underage girls. One of the girls was eventually found at a 32-year-old man's apartment. Police said the 32-year-old, whose identity is not known, and Abdulkadir allegedly had sex with the girls, who, according to court records, are between 14 and 16 years old.
The investigation produced surveillance footage showing Abdulkadir, the 32-year-old man and the two runaway girls going up the apartment staircase, according to the complaint.
Investigators then met with one of the girls, who allegedly told officers the two men engaged in sexual acts with them. The other man involved told officers on May 14 that he was informed the girls were 19 and 18 years old.
