    Minnesota man who impaled his leg in construction accident lands at St. Cloud Hospital

    Thursday evening, Meeker County deputies rescued a Slayton man and sent him to St. Cloud Hospital via LifeLink.

    At 6:45 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a man who was injured on a job site. Meeker County Deputies, Hutchinson Fire & Rescue, Alina Ambulance and Lifelink III responded to the scene in the 67000 block of CSAH 18 in Ellsworth Township, according to a release.

    Deputies learned that a 37-year-old Slayton, Minnesota, man was conducting fiber optic work when he fell into a pit. He landed on a grounding rod, which impaled his leg, the release said. The man was flown by LifeLink III from the scene to Saint Cloud Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
