Hicks-Brown, Elvera "Jean" We celebrate the life of Elvera Jean Hicks-Brown of Hugo, formerly of Fridley, who went to be with The Lord on July 13, 2024, at 96 years young. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Bertha Spieker; 1st husband of 63 years, Clayton E. Hicks; 2nd husband of 12 years, Kenneth E. Brown; brothers, Edgar, and Harlan. She is survived by her son, Robert (Pat Lutz) Hicks; daughter, Linda (Robert) Pourpasand; sister, Irma Fenno; brother, Cliff (Dorothy); grandsons, Geoffrey (Arianne) Hicks, Curtis (Angie) Hicks; great-granddaughter, Harper Jean; and many nieces and nephews. She was tireless in her devotion to her family and The Lord. She will forever be remembered. Burtson, Terrence "Terry" Age 78, of Isanti, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born on September 9, 1945, in Minneapolis, Terry was the beloved son of Arthur and Helen (Erickson) Burtson. Raised in Fridley, he graduated from Fridley High School in 1963 before pursuing a degree in accounting at Winona State University and the University of Minnesota. Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Lorelei; his daughters, Shelly (Charles) Kinnunen and Gretchen (Tony) Walz; grandchildren, Kale and Courtney Kinnunen, and Meghan and Andrew Walz. Brundage, Donna 82, of White Bear Lake, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James; parents, Francis and Donald Kuecker. She is survived by siblings, Jo Ann (Mathews), Donald (Darlene) Kuecker Jr., Richard (Margie) Kuecker, Mary Ala, Larry (Karen) Kuecker, Betty (Mike) Pauley, Robert (Roberta) Kuecker, and Barry (Chris) Kuecker; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Donna was born in IA on a farm and grew up in MN. She was a telephone operator for 32 years, after retirement she and Jim enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos and garage sales. She was a great sister and aunt to many; she will be greatly missed by all. Rush City’s Third Street culvert project begins soon
The Third Street culvert replacement project in Rush City is currently scheduled to begin in late June. The street will be closed for up to three weeks and residents may not be able to drive through on Third. James 'Jim' Carlson
Carlson, James "Jim" 78, of North Branch, passed away July 2, 2024, in the home he built and shared with his beloved wife of 41 years, Barbara "Barbie" Carlson. Jim lived a life marked by dedication and hard work, working in the elevator industry from 1969-2008 and restoring gas pumps.
