Nebraska: ALEC-sponsored workshops boost ag educators’ animal science knowledge
Lincoln, Neb. July 10, 2024 — Sometimes a helpful way to support Nebraska ag teachers is to treat them like a student. That’s been the theme since 2011 as agricultural educators participate in intensive summertime training sessions sponsored by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication.

In 2019 I was involved in a serious car accident. I went through many months of Physical Therapy and since that has finished I have been doing a Wellness program at the Boone County Health Center, our local hospital to keep myself moving and more active. I am handicapped because of the accident, but continue to slowly improve. On July 8th on my way in to work out I noticed something in the corner of a bench outside the door. I thought someone had dropped something, so I picked it up. It was a pretty little blue and white quilted heart that carried the message “I need a home – I found a quilted heart” and this web address. I was very pleased, and took it in to show multiple staff members who even checked out your website for me and they informed me it was legitimate. They also thought it was very neat. I brought it home and it is hanging in my kitchen next to a sign that says “Sew Many Fabrics – Sew Little Time”. You see, I used to quilt and haven’t been able to since my wreck because of a tremor in my hands. I would really like to get back to it. Sooo, to make a long story short, the heart has encouraged me to “Take heart”, all things are possible with God. Thank you for definitely brightening my day. God bless you.
