Shoppers in Vacaville are encouraged to be extra vigilant as there's been a rash of thefts targeting women's wallets right out of their purses. According to the Vacaville Police Department, this disturbing crime wave sometimes involves an accomplice distracting the shopper. At the same time, another does the lifting and other times it's a solo act swiftly executed while the purse is unattended, if only for seconds. "We've been seeing an uptick in cases where thieves are stealing wallets from women's purses while they shop," the department reported.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., the supervisor’s chambers were filled to standing room only as speaker after speaker requested money be allocated to their concerns in the fiscal year 2024-2025 county budget. This time, it was exceptional there were so many speakers requesting money be spent to help people in Roseland. In many ways, this was a first. Often, this writer has been the only voice in the room speaking out for help to Roseland.
