It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Albert Nelson III, beloved husband, brother, uncle, friend, and teacher who left us suddenly on April 22, 2024.Art was born on August 4, 1961 in San Francisco to Barbara and Art Nelson Jr. He graduated from UC Berkeley, with a BS in biology and went on to attend Sacramento State to earn a teaching credential. Art spent years dedicated to teaching science to students at Hall Middle School in Larkspur, where he was loved by both students and colleagues. On weekends and summer breaks, Art provided wonderful and entertaining tours at Schramsberg Vineyards.Art is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Lucinda Wolf. Together they, and their pets, have enjoyed their home they’ve made in Napa. Art and Cindie also enjoyed many trips to Kauai, HI. Art also leaves behind a sister, Carolyn Harris (John), and their family. On a warm Saturday evening at the downtown Winters Community Park, I set up a chair to enjoy a special production of a very familiar play, the classic Shakespearean comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” produced by Mary Lou Linvill with Denise Cottrell. The park is a perfect location for such a production, as the wooden, multi-level stage was built by members of the community with dedication.
