Those who enjoy 13 Nights on the River will be pleased to hear that the Thursday concert series will continue through Aug. 29.

That’s the word from the city of St. Helens as they announced a continuation of the event, which this year is being held at McCormick Park because of construction at the waterfront along the Columbia River.

The event features free live music 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Thursday, excluding July 4. Vendors will be on hand, and guests are invited to bring their own lawn chairs or a blanket to be comfortable on the grass. Limited park bench seating is available on a first come, first served basis.

Concerts were originally planned to go through June 27 while the city was involved in selecting a new events coordinator.

With Tina Curry’s E2C contract expiring the end of June , the city selected Treadway Events & Entertainment as the new contractor.

There is no 13 Nights event scheduled for the Fourth of July because McCormick Park is hosting Independence Day events .

As far as the future 13 Nights on the River concerts go, Columbia County Coyotes will be performing on July 11, with Hit Machine entertaining the following Thursday.

Catherine Loyer & Strawberry Roan will play their tunes July 25, and The Sweetwater Band will perform Aug. 1. Rounding out the concerts, in order, are Patrick Lamb, Bon Bon Vivant, The Horn Dawgs and Hot Club Sandwich. The Gold Experience will entertain the last evening of the event, Aug. 29.

Plans are to bring the event back to its original Columbia View Park location next year, but, according to City Administrator John Walsh, “With anything, there are always unknowns that we may not be able to anticipate."

Construction of the Riverwalk Project Phase 1 in Columbia View Park is scheduled for completion in spring 2025.
