It promises to be a toasty evening at McCormick Park in St. Helens as The Sweetwater Band performs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, during 13 Nights on the River.

With temperatures approaching 100 degrees, bring plenty of water and enjoy this band, which bills itself “The Northwest’s Premier Live Entertainment Band.”

The group plays songs you remember from days past, inspired by rock & roll, old and new country tunes, pop, disco, funk and blues.

The band has played at a number of Northwest venues, including Sprit Mountain, the St. Paul Rodeo, Quinault Beach Resort and Casino and fairs in Columbia, Clackamas and Tillamook counties.

The outdoor concert series, Thursday evenings through Aug. 29, is being held at McCormick Park this year due to construction at the waterfront, along the Columbia River. The traditional location is Columbia View Park where patrons can enjoy live music within eyesight of the Columbia.

Vendors are on hand at the concerts and you’re asked to bring your own lawn chairs or a blanket to keep comfortable. Limited park bench seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
