Post 68 edges Post 65 thanks to big 1st inning
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Charleston Post 65 may have had a four-run third inning, but it still wasn’t enough. That’s because Bridgeport Post 68 scored early and often in its 6-4 victory over Post 65 on Friday in the West Virginia American Legion Baseball State Tournament in Martinsburg.
Man facing child exploitation charges in Virginia, Maryland
MONROVIA, Md. — A 68-year-old man is facing charges in both Maryland and Virginia after police say a week-long joint investigation uncovered crimes against children. Joseph Muir Osborne, of Monrovia, was arrested Wednesday by police at his home. In Fairfax County, he's facing 25 counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of distribution of bestiality. In Frederick County, he's also been charged with 24 counts of possession of child pornography.

Martin Strull, age 84, of Myersville, Maryland and Silverthorne, CO passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s on June 25, 2024. Marty was born in Brooklyn (Bensonhurst), NY to Dorothy (Macklinsky) and Mitchell Strulowitz. He is survived by his loving wife Carol (Mendelsohn) Barrons, loving sister Phyllis (Harold) Redler, daughter Marcia (Jim) Gardiner, sons Joseph (Michelle), Jason (Karen), Randy (Terry), Brian (Angelise), step-daughter Rachel (Jacques) Gagne and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother Philip (Adrienne) and sisters Maxine (Arnie) Henkin and Joyce (Donald) Chernoff.

Cannabis company to double growing operations at Maryland facility
MariMed Inc. has expanded its presence in Maryland to prepare for an influx of business after dozens of new cannabis dispensaries come online. MariMed, operating as Kind Therapeutics, will double the amount of cannabis it grows at its 180,000-square-foot Hagerstown cannabis cultivation and production facility.
