Kvng Kee: The Journey of a Versatile Artist
Hometown: Wilmington, North Carolina, from a small country town called East Arcadia. Kvng Kee started making music back in 2016 during his freshman year of high school. Alongside his friend Nick and his late cousin Tajuan, who sadly passed away in a car accident in 2019, they began rapping and singing together in band class, where Kee played percussion. Their creative freedom in band class allowed them to brainstorm and have fun with music. The tragic loss of his cousin motivated Kee to pursue music seriously, ensuring that Tajuan’s name and their shared dream lived on.
Charles Edward “Eddie” Varnam, 72
SOUTHPORT — Charles Edward “Eddie” Varnam, age 72, of Bolivia, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Mr. Varnam was born October 24, 1951 in Brownsville, Texas, son of the late Charles Lindberg Varnam and Eva Mae Sellers Varnam. He was a member of the Town Creek Hunting Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and his Ford Mustangs. Eddie was a foundation contractor for many years, laying foundations for homes all over Brunswick County.
Coleman Lee Maready, 80
WILMINGTON — Coleman Lee Maready, born on February 4, 1944, in Duplin County, passed away peacefully at his home in Wilmington, NC on July 13, 2024, at the age of 80. A dedicated and diligent individual, Coleman was a proud graduate of UNC-Wilmington, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. He went on to have a fulfilling career as an accountant, a profession from which he eventually retired.
Maritime Museum program focuses on America’s founding

Body of missing woman discovered in Bolivia woods
BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A missing woman was found Tuesday in Bolivia. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office announced that 32-year-old Alba Jo Doreen Wade was discovered deceased around 5:30 p.m. on July 16. Wade was found in a wooded area off Colonial Landing in Bolivia, after a call Tuesday morning suggested she might be missing in the vicinity.
