ILM, NCDOT put forth $3.4M to widen 23rd Street
WILMINGTON — The Wilmington International Airport (ILM) now has $3.4 million for an expansion project to the road that serves as its primary entryway. At the July 10 New Hanover County Airport Authority meeting, board members unanimously approved a $1-million contribution to the expansion of 23rd Street, the direct route to enter ILM’s campus. The widening project would only be for a portion of 23rd Street, from Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway to Castle Hayne Road.

Warning: Endangered Manatees Spotted Along NC Coast
Authorities are cautioning beachgoers about a group of endangered manatees recently sighted along the North Carolina coast. Paws & Claws Animal Hospital reported the manatees were seen in the Intracoastal waterways between Hampstead and Wrightsville Beach.
