Bridgeport man on parole accused of selling fentanyl, cocaine, Stamford police say
STAMFORD — A Bridgeport man was charged Wednesday in an investigation into fentanyl and cocaine sales throughout Fairfield County, according to Stamford police. The investigation, conducted by Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics & Organized Crime Unit and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport Office, led to an arrest warrant charging 42-year-old Edwin Abrams with three counts of sale of narcotics, Lt. Stop & Shop brand Italian breaded chicken cutlets have been recalled due to a missing a milk allergen specification on some of the packages, the store announced on July 18. The chain, which has 88 stores throughout the Nutmeg State, noted that there have been no reports of injury or illness related to the chicken cutlets and that all of the mislabeled products have been "removed from sale." Those with milk allergies can have symptoms like wheezing, vomiting, hives, digestive problems or anaphylaxis (which can lead to the body going into shock and causing death) after consuming milk products, according to the Mayo Clinic. Milk allergy is one of the most common allergies among children, though most grow out of it, the clinic added.

WESTPORT — Expanding to three locations in Connecticut, Sweetgreen is about to open in Westport, offering healthy food options to the community. Sweetgreen, located inside the Compo Acres Shopping Center at 374 Post Road East, is set to open July 30. The brand first introduced itself to Fairfield County in 2021, with a location in Greenwich.
