Bridgeport man on parole accused of selling fentanyl, cocaine, Stamford police say
STAMFORD — A Bridgeport man was charged Wednesday in an investigation into fentanyl and cocaine sales throughout Fairfield County, according to Stamford police. The investigation, conducted by Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics & Organized Crime Unit and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport Office, led to an arrest warrant charging 42-year-old Edwin Abrams with three counts of sale of narcotics, Lt. Seth O’Brien said in a news release posted to Facebook Friday.

DARIEN — An Australian race car driver is suing a Darien Chevrolet dealership after two employees reportedly totaled his car while taking it on an unauthorized drive. In a lawsuit filed in Stamford Superior Court June 17, race car driver Kenny Habul claimed two employees of H & L Chevrolet in Darien took Habul’s Chevrolet Camaro off the premises and crashed the vehicle on Interstate 95.

Stop & Shop recalls Italian breaded chicken cutlets due to mislabeling
Stop & Shop brand Italian breaded chicken cutlets have been recalled due to a missing a milk allergen specification on some of the packages, the store announced on July 18. The chain, which has 88 stores throughout the Nutmeg State, noted that there have been no reports of injury or illness related to the chicken cutlets and that all of the mislabeled products have been "removed from sale." Those with milk allergies can have symptoms like wheezing, vomiting, hives, digestive problems or anaphylaxis (which can lead to the body going into shock and causing death) after consuming milk products, according to the Mayo Clinic. Milk allergy is one of the most common allergies among children, though most grow out of it, the clinic added.

The Massapequa International 12U softball team’s quest for a repeat resumes Sunday. The reigning Little League Softball World Series champions will play a team from Delaware at 10 a.m. in the first round of the double-elimination Mid-Atlantic Region tournament in Bristol, Connecticut. BRIDGEPORT — A city woman staged a June swatting incident that led to a rapid response by the Police Department's Emergency Service Unit, police said in a post on Facebook. Dorothy Smith, 34, is accused of calling 911 in the early morning hours of June 27, pretending to be another woman, to say her family was being held hostage at gunpoint by her boyfriend at a house on Highland Avenue, according to the post.
