Pickle champ!
This plate of pickles was no match for Emilio DeLeon of Convoy. DeLeon polished off 9.5 pickles in 10 minutes and took first place in the pickle eating contest at the 28th annual St. Joe Pickle Festival in St. Joe, Indiana, Saturday afternoon. City announces $5 million toward Pufferbelly Bridge over Coliseum
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – On Thursday, Mayor Sharon Tucker announced that a $5 million gift has been given to the City of Fort Wayne to assist in the funding of a future bridge crossing over Coliseum Boulevard that is planned to be constructed as part of the Pufferbelly Trail.

The Evergreen Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, July 15th. The meeting began at 6:00 p.m. The board moved to approve the following items listed on the agenda. Approved minutes from meeting held on June 24th, June 2024 financial reports, list of donations as presented, and Certificate of the Total Amount of all sources available for expenditures and balances for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2024.
Hoosier Lottery drawing produces two Indiana winners
Wednesday’s Hoosier Lottery drawing produced not one but two lucky winners in northern Indiana. Two $50,000 Powerball tickets were sold for the Wednesday drawing, one at Virk Liquors #8 in La Porte, located at 501 State St. The second was at Phil’s One Stop #21 in Fort Wayne at 3411 Lower Huntington Rd.

FWPD: 17-year-old charged with attempted murder over Sunday shooting
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A 17-year-old accused of shooting a woman outside a home early Sunday morning is now charged with attempted murder. Fort Wayne Police arrested the teenager Wednesday morning. Officers had been looking for him following the disturbance in which a woman was shot Sunday in the 4600 block of Glenmary Drive on the city’s south side.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) — On Thursday, the Indiana State Police held their 85th Recruit Academy Graduation with some new troopers having area ties. The graduation took place at the Indiana State Capitol Rotunda for the 21 new State Police Troopers. Graduates heard remarks from ISP Superintendent Douglas Carter and the Honorable Justice Christopher Goff of the Indiana Supreme Court.
