An Illinois man faces drunken-driving charges in Sauk County after police say he pulled a camper containing nine children on a highway following a domestic dispute. The 57-year-old Monee, Illinois, man was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on East Washington Avenue at East Springs Drive on Madison’s Far East Side, the State Patrol said in a statement.

The thoroughfare to Silver Cross Hospital’s main campus received a name change Tuesday to honor Silver Cross’ former president and chief executive officer Ruth Colby. New Lenox Mayor Timothy Baldermann, New Lenox officials and members of Silver Cross staff gathered to “honorarily rename Silver Cross Boulevard to Honorary Ruth Colby Boulevard in her memory,” according to a news release from Silver Cross Hospital.

A house was razed by a fire this morning in West Wheatfield Township. Indiana County 911 initially dispatched Clyde, New Florence, and Bolivar firefighters, Citizens’ Ambulance and the RIT team to a home along Mulligan Hill Road around 5:09 this morning, with Armagh, Blacklick, Blairsville, Fairfield Township, Middle Taylor, and Homer City crews called in to assist between 5:16 and 6:30.

Yes, there was some rain and hot weather, but the 12th running of Bluegrass Festival in Frankfort played on. The festival drew an estimated 12,000 people during the two-day event July 13-14 with plenty of bands and performers picking and grinning. The entertainment included renowned artists such as Peter Rowan and Jim Lauderdale and the Po’ Ramblin’ Boys. There was also an appearance by a South Korean band, Country Gongbang.
