Teen facing attempted murder charge for deadly Beecher shootout
MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - An 18-year-old man is facing three charges for the deadly shootout involving a group of teens in the Beecher area last month. Court records show 18-year-old Cordell Warwick Allen was arraigned this week on an attempted murder charge and two weapons charges related to the June 25 incident in Hilton Lane.

Nancy J. Scales, 73 of Tinley Park, passed away on July 12, 2024, after a courageous 28-month fight with cancer at Sunrise Assisted Living in Willowbrook. Born in 1950 in Ottawa to William J. and Drue Redshaw Scales, Nancy graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in teaching and spent several years working with special needs children before going on to work in retail at Bergner's and Carson Pirie Scott. She was a member of the Morrison Music Theater Association, participating as a cast member and costume maker; an active choir member in the Ottawa Congregational Church; and a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Teen Charged In Beecher Shooutout
An 18-year-old suspect in a shootout in Beecher on June 25 was arrainged this week. Police in the Genesee County community responded to a home on Hilton Lane after an SUV parked in front, with three teens getting out and assaulting someone in the yard. Gunfire erupted between an occupant of the SUV and someone else nearby. 17-year-old Khamani Lindsey was killed while another 17-year-old was critically injured.
