No Injuries in Peotone Structural Fire
The Manhattan Fire Protection District was called to a structural fire that required a full-still additional personnel activation in Peotone on July 10. The fire, which occurred at a West Street residence within Peotone village limits, was contained to the kitchen and extinguished within 15 minutes. No injuries were reported. MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) 19 is investigating the cause of the fire.

Calumet Park Man Charged in Dan Ryan Expressway Shooting That Wounded 7-Year-Old Boy
A Calumet Park man faces serious charges after a road rage incident on the Dan Ryan Expressway resulted in a 7-year-old boy being shot early Sunday morning. Ulyesee W. Burns, 54, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm, according to ABC7 Chicago. The Illinois State Police indicated that the child, who was a passenger in an involved vehicle, is in serious condition.
