Man accused of OWI while pulling camper containing 9 kids, Wisconsin State Patrol says
An Illinois man faces drunken-driving charges in Sauk County after police say he pulled a camper containing nine children on a highway following a domestic dispute. The 57-year-old Monee, Illinois, man was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on East Washington Avenue at East Springs Drive on Madison’s Far East Side, the State Patrol said in a statement.

He will sign copies of his latest history book about East Chicago and copies of his other books “Lost Hammond, Indiana,” “Secret Northwest Indiana” and “100 Things to Do in Gary and Northwest Indiana Before You Die.” South Carolina-based The History Press published Pete’s new book, a history of the Twin City of East Chicago and its Indiana Harbor neighborhood.
New Lenox, Silver Cross Hospital rename boulevard to honor Ruth Colby
The thoroughfare to Silver Cross Hospital’s main campus received a name change Tuesday to honor Silver Cross’ former president and chief executive officer Ruth Colby. New Lenox Mayor Timothy Baldermann, New Lenox officials and members of Silver Cross staff gathered to “honorarily rename Silver Cross Boulevard to Honorary Ruth Colby Boulevard in her memory,” according to a news release from Silver Cross Hospital.

Franciscan Health Munster Hospital will host a free suicide prevention course next month. The hospital at 701 Superior Ave. in Munster is offering the class to help save life. It's estimated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that suicide is the leading cause of death in the United States.
