Teen facing attempted murder charge for deadly Beecher shootout
MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - An 18-year-old man is facing three charges for the deadly shootout involving a group of teens in the Beecher area last month. Court records show 18-year-old Cordell Warwick Allen was arraigned this week on an attempted murder charge and two weapons charges related to the June 25 incident in Hilton Lane.
Arrest made in June shooting on I-80/94
Tuesday morning, detectives with the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division Lowell Post along with officers with the U.S. Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, served an arrest warrant in the 7000 block of Birch Ave. in Hammond. Arrested was 35-year-old Darrell A. Graham, from Chicago, IL. Graham was arrested without incident. The arrest was a result of an extensive investigation into the interstate shooting that occurred on June 3,2024, along I-80/94 in Hammond. In that shooting, a juvenile sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to their lower extremities.

Manhattan Museum Reopens in Time to Celebrate 10th Anniversary
After an extended closure, Manhattan Township Historical Society’s Museum again began welcoming visitors July 6 — and just in time for its 10-year anniversary this fall. The museum was forced to close at the end of March after heating issues and broken pipes caused significant water damage, leaving ceiling tiles on the floor and puddles of standing water inside the main museum entrance.

Sky announce official plans for new practice facility in Bedford Park
A new, highly anticipated era for the Sky is officially here, marked by the announcement of the franchise’s $38 million practice facility to be built in Bedford Park. In a press release shared Thursday morning, the franchise announced it would break ground — in partnership with the Village of Bedford Park — on the 40,000-square-foot facility this fall. The facility — which has been years in the making — will be located on the land next to the Wintrust Sports Complex near Midway Airport.
