Carts stolen from Colfax Golf Course recovered
COLFAX — Missing golf carts and the man who alleged stole them were located over the weekend in tall brush between Glenwood and Dry Creek roads. Michael D. Rosser, 37, of Garfield, was booked into the Whitman County Jail on three counts of second-degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl and methamphetamine) with intent to deliver.

Garfield man arrested for allegedly stealing golf carts
A Garfield man was arrested for allegedly stealing golf carts from the Colfax Golf Course and on additional drug charges this past weekend. The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office announced in a news release Monday that deputies arrested 37-year-old Michael Rosser on three counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Funeral services for Frances A. West, age 96, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the Palouse Federated Church, 635 N. Bridge St., Palouse, with the Rev. Corey Laughary officiating at the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse. Frances passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Regency Assisted Living in Pullman.
Juan Trejo Perez sentenced to a year in prison for third-degree child molestation
COLFAX — Juan Trejo Perez was sentenced to serve a year in prison for third-degree child molestation Friday morning at Whitman County Superior Court in Colfax. Whitman County Judge Gary Libey handed down the maximum sentence permissible by the state of Washington. The 34-year-old man was also ordered to a year in community custody and must register as a sex offender for the next 10 years. Libey approved a victim no contact order of five years.
