A self-published book has been written about two people who once lived in the South Haven area and their adopted daughter. “Bunny” is a new book about South Haven residents Delores Wheeler and Don Dickinson, growing up in the 1930s and early 1940s. Buchanan duo finishes 1-2 at 50th Steve’s Run
DOWAGIAC — A pair of Buchanan juniors-to-be finished first and second at the 50th annual Steve’s Run in downtown Dowagiac Friday night. Ashton Smedley and Liam McBeth crossed the finish line hand-in-hand, with Smedley taking first place in the 5K with a time of 18:35 and McBeth the runner-up with a clocking of 18:36.
Support needed for the recreation millage
I am writing to indicate my support for the proposed South Haven Recreation Millage that will be before the voters on August 6. Rebecca and I raised our three sons in South Haven and took advantage of many opportunities provided through the schools and through community youth sports and recreation programs during those years. A broad-based recreation program was important to us and other young families to support our children.
