Will Reds' offensive woes force an accelerated promotion from an unexpected source?
In a somewhat unexpected twist, the Cincinnati Reds' offense has been a weak point for the team this season. Sure, Elly De La Cruz has been one of the more valuable position players in baseball this season (seventh in fWAR at 3.7 in all of MLB), but the offense overall ranks in the bottom third of the league in WAR, average, home runs, wRC+, and on-base percentage. In short, the bats have been decidedly not great.

Using a VPN with MLB TV? Here’s what you need to know
A couple of months ago, I took a drastic measure for the sake of streaming the Cincinnati Reds, signing up for VPN to watch in-market games on MLB TV. As in many other markets, the only official way to watch in-market Reds games is with a bloated pay TV package that includes Bally Sports, such as DirecTV Stream, FuboTV, or cable. Even if you have no interest in any other cable channels, you’ll be spending around $100 per month just to watch your local team.
176 Jewish gravestones vandalized at 2 Cincinnati cemeteries
Vandals in Cincinnati damaged or knocked over 176 gravestones at two historic Jewish cemeteries over the course of the past week. A joint statement from the local Jewish federation, Jewish Community Relations Council and Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati called it an “act of antisemitic vandalism.” Most of the graves were pushed facedown, which Jewish groups said made it difficult to identify and notify the families, as local law enforcement has advised them to leave the scene untouched while they investigate.
