Vestaburg celebrates its sesquicentennial with weekend festival
The village of Vestaburg will host a celebration marking its 150th anniversary from Friday, July 19 to Sunday, July 21. Founder George W. O’Donnell named the little town after his wife, Vesta, and the town went on to become part of the lumber, agriculture and manufacturing history of mid-Michigan.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Former Central Michigan pitcher Adam Mrakitsch has signed a free agent contract with the Texas Rangers. Mrakitsch, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-hander, was not selected during Major League Baseball's annual draft, which concluded on Tuesday.
