Cramer Named to Academic All-America Team
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan wrestler Alex Cramer has been named to the Academic All-America At-Large Third Team by the College Sports Communicators. Cramer, a redshirt senior from Grayslake, Ill., is a computer science major with a 3.95 grade point average. He is one of 17 student-athletes named to the third team and one of just 47 named to the first, second or third team. The student-athletes represent eight sports and Cramer is one of six wrestlers so honored.
Hemlock House Fire Under Investigation
Crews from the Richland Township Fire Department responded to a house fire in Hemlock Tuesday. The fire was reported in the 16000 block of Doyle Road at about 3:10 A.M.. According to officials, the fire appears to have started in the attic of the home. The occupants, two residents and a number of pets, were able to safely evacuate before firefighters arrived on the scene. No injuries were reported.

Central Michigan University is making plans to move its medical school to Saginaw, announcing Monday that a fundraising effort to support the plan is underway. As demand for medical education and health care grows in Michigan and nationally, Central Michigan University’s College of Medicine is pursuing a plan to expand its programs and consolidate into a new home as part of the Medical Diamond Project in Saginaw, the university said.
