A Bay City man is serving a stint in the Midland County Jail for not returning a rented U-Haul truck. “It was never my intention to steal a U-Haul truck,” said Jerald Wicks Jr., 53, at his July 11 sentencing in Midland County Circuit Court for unlawful use of a vehicle. He was sentenced to 30 days with 12 days credit for time served and two years’ probation.

Hemlock House Fire Under Investigation
Crews from the Richland Township Fire Department responded to a house fire in Hemlock Tuesday. The fire was reported in the 16000 block of Doyle Road at about 3:10 A.M.. According to officials, the fire appears to have started in the attic of the home.
