For the ninth year in a row, Rebel Bourbon is bottling its trademark defiant attitude in the form of its 10-year Single Barrel expression. On Monday, Lux Row Distillers announced the return of Rebel 10-Year Single Barrel Bourbon, a 100-proof whiskey said to have been crafted using Rebel's centuries-old wheated recipe. According to the brand, each iteration is "meticulously crafted" and "hand bottled independently" to create a unique flavor profile across each batch. This year's release delivers aromas of vanilla and dark fruits, flavors of citrus and caramel and a velvety oak finish. Lux Row says that Rebel 10-Year will be released in a limited allocation later this month, retailing at a suggested price of $99.99 per bottle.

“This annual Rebel 10-Year Single Barrel shows how Rebel is bridging the gap between its heritage and modern tastes,” Lux Row Distillers Master Distiller John Rempe said in a news release. “I think consumers will appreciate the hand-crafted single barrel process when they experience the robust, rebellious flavor and mature finish of this extra smooth sipping whiskey.”

In addition to Rebel Bourbon, Lux Row heads up recognizable imprints like Blood Oath , Ezra Brooks , David Nicholson and Daviess County . The distiller — originally known as the David Sherman Corporation — was founded in 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri. We've been impressed by various Lux Row releases over the years, particularly its Calvados-finished Blood Oath Pact No. 8 , which brimmed with rich flavors of honey, toffee and stewed apples. That being said, Rebel Bourbon has found its way into the headlines repeatedly over the past few years standing on its own merits.
