St. Louis landmark O’Connell’s Pub is up for sale

ST. LOUIS — An Irish pub the known for its burgers and timeless atmosphere is up for sale. A Facebook post from O’Connell’s Pub says that they are looking for a group to buy the restaurant that is interested in continuing the “O’Connell’s feel.”

“We expect many interested parties to emerge, and will not do this quickly. You can do things fast, or you can do things right, but you can rarely do both. We are fine taking our time,” write the owners.

Owner Jack Parker bought the restaurant in 1965 and relocated it to its current home in 1972 . When Jack Parker died in June 2020, his son Parker Jr. and two daughters inherited the business. Parker Jr. bought out his sisters over the past year and now owns 85% of the restaurant and his father’s antique shop above it.

“Thank you all for your 60+ years of patronage. The hope is that from the customer perspective, nothing changes,” the Facebook post states.
