Downtown St. Louis celebrates Fourth of July with parade, fireworks

ST. LOUIS – It’s a big day for America and a big day for St. Louis. “Celebrate St. Louis” will begin in downtown St. Louis.

Event organizers said Wednesday night that they’re playing it by ear due to ongoing rain, but they expect things to kick off at 10 a.m. with America’s birthday parade and from there, the celebrations will only continue.

The longstanding tradition of celebrating Independence Day in St. Louis City will continue after the parade, with almost twenty vendors running up and down Lenore K. Sullivan. Joining them is the Wonderful Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation, which also features some teen talent.

Sharing some spotlight local with St. Louis, the Eads Bridge 150th birthday bash will ring in around 1:35 p.m. before an amazing airshow kicks off at 2 p.m.

After that, the next five hours will be filled with some pretty big-name performances from big-name artists like The Band Feel and Lupe Fiasco. Touching back to our senses, a salute to troops will also take place.

The big fireworks show will fill the downtown St. Louis skylines. If you can’t make it or want to stay home, St. Louis Eleven is giving exclusive coverage from the skies.

The Bommarito Automotive Group Skyfox will cover the lightshow in the air. The event will also be streamed live from fox2now.com, and it’ll kick off around 9:40 p.m.
