ST. LOUIS – A pedestrian is critically hurt after a crash overnight in north St. Louis.

The collision happened around 10 p.m. Friday near the intersection of West Florissant Avenue and Summit Place in St. Louis’ Walnut Park West neighborhood.

Investigators say a 57-year-old man driving a GMC Sierra vehicle struck an unidentified woman who was walking across West Florissant. The driver was heading eastbound.

The woman is hospitalized in critical condition. Police say the man who drove the Sierra remained on scene.

An accident reconstruction team with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is handling the investigation. FOX 2 will update as more information becomes available.
