ST. LOUIS — St. Louis firefighters responded to a high-rise apartment building in Downtown West, located on North 17th Street, off Chestnut, possibly the Towers of the Gateway City building. There were reports of smoky conditions on the 10th floor, but no signs of smoke or fire were found.

The St. Louis Fire Department posted on X that fire extinguishers had been used on several floors, including floors 3, 9, 10, and 11. Firefighters downgraded their emergency response, and the impacted floors are being ventilated. Fire officials are still investigating the incident.
