Cody Fitzgerald, a now former Seminole Animal Control Officer, faces allegations of felony animal cruelty, according to court documents filed on Monday. In the probable cause affidavit, an officer for the on-campus police department at Seminole State College said he responded to a call of two stray dogs inside a residential hall on May 7.

Line breaks leave some Purcell, McClain County residents without water
PURCELL, Okla. — Homeowners on the west side of Purcell and rural McClain County have been without water since Tuesday as crews work to fix several water line breaks. The incident prompted city leaders to put in water restrictions and set up locations for locals to pick up bottled water. While residents in the area wonder when the water will come back on, leaders said progress has been made, but it will take time.

Ruth Ann, the daughter of Amond and Katie Louise (Tiger) Harjo, was born November 30, 1948, in Seminole. Ruth Ann graduated from Bowlegs High School, with the class of 1967. She then attended Seminole Junior College, and finally she went to technical school in San Jose, California. On November 4, 1972, Ruth Ann married Howard “Lindsey” Bondoni, in Sasakwa. Ruth Ann was a seamstress, a Seminole patchwork designer, she was involved with cultural preservation, she loved her travels to Florida, and was an avid movie watcher. The matriarch of her family, Ruth Ann was a proud member of the Ocese Band, Wind Clan, and loved being involved in her Seminole culture.

Christine Carmen Griffin
Griffin Seminole resident, Christine Carmen Griffin, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 in Shawnee at the age of 100. Christine, the daughter of Vilas and Natha (Scivally) Murphy, was born February 19, 1924, in Lane, Oklahoma. Christine married J.D. Griffin, they made their home in Seminole. Christine was a home maker, who loved football, particularly OU football, as well as OU softball. She was also an avid reader, who loved to cook for her family and friends. Christine was a faithful member of the Seminole First Baptist Church, where she taught a Sunday School class for several years.
