Community meeting set for Monday at White Barn to discuss Bulldog and Nellie fires
Garden Valley, ID (CBS2) — Crews continue to make progress on the Bulldog and Nellie fires as cooler temperatures continue to help fire crews. Crews working on the Bulldog fire focused on containing the fire on the western side as well as protecting structures along the southwestern perimeter. Crews will be working on creating containment lines along the north and northeastern edges of the fire.
Madison Memorial Hospital will hold focus groups in response to an ER complaint on Facebook
REXBURG – After seeing online complaints of inattention in the emergency room, Madison Memorial Hospital wants to do better. The hospital will soon hold focus groups to address complaints about response times in the ER after a Facebook post garnered almost 200 comments and 153 reactions, detailing negative experiences.
Whooping Cough Cases on the Rise in Washington State
Washington state has see a rapid increase in whooping cough cases this year. The infectious cough is spreading rapidly throughout Eastern Washington. Benton County has reported two confirmed cases and one case is confirmed in Walla Walla County. Grant County has reported 21 confirmed cases with 7 suspected cases since June. Wanted Felon Captured After Seven-Hour Standoff in Quincy
QUINCY — A seven-hour standoff between law enforcement and a wanted felon ended early Saturday morning with the successful capture of 40-year-old Juan Blancas of Quincy. Blancas, who was wanted on outstanding felony warrants, was apprehended after refusing to surrender to Grant County deputies. The incident began at approximately 12:05 a.m. when Blancas, who had been spotted driving past a deputy, fled to a residence at 424 K-St SW in Quincy. He then ran inside the home and declined to come out despite repeated attempts by deputies to negotiate his surrender.

Burn Ban Lifted For North Central Idaho

Officials with several agencies including the Idaho Department of Lands have lifted the ban on the Grangeville Fire Restrictions area which includes Latah County locally.
