Sheriff's Deputies Capture Suspect After Intense Manhunt Near Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE - A 24-hour manhunt came to an end today as Sheriff's Deputies apprehended a man who had evaded capture since Monday morning. The suspect was located by a property owner around 11 a.m. hiding in a shop in the zero block of Road R-SE near Moses Lake, just south of Baseline in the southeast quadrant of the county, approximately 18 miles east of Division. According to the property owner, it appeared the man had been hiding there throughout the night.

Multiple Idaho highways receiving new coat of paint this summer
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) said multiple highways across the state will be receiving a fresh coat of paint this summer. According to a press release, ITD said striping crews will be laying down a fresh coat of paint on large sections of respective highways from July all the way through September.

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Temperatures will once again warm well into the triple digits today. Temperatures will be between 102 to 106 degrees around the Treasure Valley. Yesterday was the second hottest day on record in Boise. With a high of 106 and a low of 82, the average temperature was 94 degrees on Monday. That average temperature ties us with July 13, 2002, for the second hottest in Boise history. The record is 96 degrees set back on July 25, 1891.

Caldwell School District cuts SROs from budget. What's next for the schools, officers
CALDWELL — Among major changes coming in the 2024-2025 academic year, the Caldwell School District will be cutting school resources officers from its budget. This is another decision made due to the failed renewal of a $4.1 million supplemental levy in the May 21 primary election. This summer, the CSD also moved to close an elementary school and implement costs for student sports.
Nampa man sentenced for killing his mother's alleged killer
BOISE, Idaho — A Nampa man who was convicted of second-degree murder in May 2024 was sentenced to prison. According to court documents, Raul A. Cuevas, 32, was sentenced to serve up to 10 years in the Idaho Department of Correction on Monday morning. He is eligible for parole after serving four years.

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality issued a red/unhealthy air quality advisory for Tuesday and Wednesday because of continued and worsening wildfire smoke in the Treasure Valley.
