Man dies in Northside shooting
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot and killed on Monday in a neighborhood on the Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO said it responded to the Cambridge Estates, across the street from FSCJ North Campus, around 4 p.m. and found the man who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Stolen SUV Pursuit Ends in Fatal Crash on I-95; Murder Suspect Found Dead
On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Kingsland Police pursued a stolen black GMC Arcadia on I-95 northbound. The SUV had been reported stolen from Brevard County, Florida. Patrol officers attempted to stop the vehicle using a PIT maneuver, with one officer striking the fleeing vehicle. The pursuit ended when the SUV crashed into trees.

DOJ: Jacksonville man who fired gun near girlfriend's feet in late 2023 will be deported after 2-year sentence
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Honduran national will spend two years in federal prison prior to his deportation, according to the Department of Justice. Edgar Aquino, 20, was sentenced to two years in federal prison, for being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm. Aquino pleaded guilty to that offense on March 28, 2024. Following his prison term, Aquino will be deported from the United States, the release said.
