ISU Extension & Outreach Offering Services During Dallas County Fair
The Dallas County Fair is right around the corner, with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach making an appearance. The fair begins tomorrow in Adel and ISU Extension Youth Outreach Educator Kathy Rottinghaus shares that the organization’s theme is “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss, with activities throughout the county fair. One of the activities that will be happening are barn tours, as Educational Facilitator Intern Haylee Wachter elaborates.
Iowa Works helps former Bridgestone employees file for unemployment
DES MOINES, Iowa — Many Bridgestone employees who were let go are now filing for unemployment as they search for new jobs. Last month, 216 people learned they would be terminated, and last Friday, worked their last shift. Bridgestone cited "demand constraints in the agricultural tire sector,” as the reason for these layoffs.

Born in 1948 in Tacoma, Wash., Gary’s family moved to Clarke County, Iowa when he was an infant, and he grew up on a farm outside of Murray. He then moved to Glenwood, IA and lived at Glenwood Resource Center for many years. Most recently Gary enjoyed spending time with his friends and housemates in Council Bluffs, IA.
Indianola School District Summer Projects
The Indianola School District is currently in the middle of multiple summer projects, including the Replace-in-Place Project that will expand Indianola High School. Among the projects include moving the district greenhouse, the demolition of the parking lot, upgrades to the wrestling room and gymnasium, and preparing the ground for the new two-story academic wing to the north.
