St Marys Resident Under Federal Indictment in Gun Running Case
A St. Marys resident has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Erie for violating federal firearms laws. 44-year-old Gary James Murray was indicted on 3 counts that were unsealed on Monday, following his arrest. Murray is accused of conspiring with individuals in Canada from October of 2022 to April of this year, to conceal and ship Glock pistols to Canada without the required license, and contrary to exportation regulations. The firearms he allegedly smuggled across the border were prohibited weapons in Canada.

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) — A local man who is facing harassment charges following a dispute in Punxsutawney Borough is due in court on Friday. Court documents say a preliminary hearing is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 19, for 31-year-old David Edward Pierce Jr., of Johnsonburg, in front of District Judge Jacqueline Mizerock.

Grant submitted for additional Rt. 120 Connector project funding
ST. MARYS - Additional grant funding may be on its way for the city’s state Route 120 Connector Project. St. Marys City Council unanimously approved submitting a Multimodal Transportation grant application for $2.4 million during their Monday evening meeting under the guidance of the City of St. Marys Director of Community and Economic Development, Tina Gradizzi.

Director of the Johnsonburg Community Trust (JCT) Stephanie Distler welcomed invited guests and gave a brief history of the trust that was established in 1997 and was able to purchase the 45,000-square-foot historic Brick Block in 2020.
