Season in review: Perry Central track
LEOPOLD — Perry Central track this season competed in meets at home, Boonville, Tell City, and Northeast Dubois as well as the postseason. Perry Central’s first meet of the year took place at Paoli against the Rams and the Commodores won both the boys and girls events. The boys scored 78 to Paoli’s 43 and the girls scored 97 points to 21 from the Rams. Overall, Perry Central finished first in 25 separate events such as the 3200 meter relay, 400-meter dash, high jump, long jump, and shot put.

$700,000 given to local youth apprenticeship programs
INDIANAPOLIS — Ascend Indiana is awarding four grants to help Indiana youth get on-the-job training. The grants are going to the Indiana Youth Apprenticeship Accelerator, including the West Central Indiana Career and Technical Education Center in Crawfordsville, Eastern Indiana Works in Muncie, the Southern Indiana Education Center in Jasper and Southern Indiana Works in New Albany.
