Community Events Coming to Huntingburg in July
The Huntingburg Common Council and Utility Board convened on Tuesday night with a brief agenda of transit services and some exciting community events. Transit Director April Blessinger discussed the status of van 75, which was slated for replacement in the city’s fleet. The purchase of a new one was approved, so van 75 was appraised at Ruxer Ford. The appraisal came in at $5000 or less because of the age of the vehicle. After consulting with INDOT, it was determined that the repairs should be attempted to maintain it as an additional backup vehicle. Unfortunately, after ordering the parts, it was determined that the condition of the vehicle was much worse than originally thought, and the repairs were not recommended. As the van is currently owned by INDOT, it will be made available for 30 days to any transit service in Indiana for purchase. After 30 days, the van will revert back to Huntingburg for city use or public sale.
