Man killed in early morning crash in Perry Co.
PERRY CO., Ind. (WFIE) - A deadly crash is under investigation in Perry County. Deputies say it happened around 4:20 a.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of Old State Road 237. They say 27-year-old Dalton Ransom, of Magnet, Indiana, was driving a pickup and ran off the road, causing his truck to roll.

Eric Parsley, a project manager with Commonwealth Engineers, says, "When it rains in Huntingburg our flows go up almost five times what the plant currently can really handle."

Patricia Gail Russelburg, 71, 0f Hawesville, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at her home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Breckinridge County on October 8, 1952 to the late Jasper and Bernice Brown Dewitt. Gail was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a retired security guard. She enjoyed yard sales, “junking” and horses. Gail was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rachele Ress and son-in-law, James G. McCrary.
Pioneer Planting at Lincoln Heritage Public Library
The Dale branch of Lincoln Heritage Public Library held a special storytime event July 8 to showcase some of the chores that would have been expected of a young Abe Lincoln. Interns Jaeger Loran and Ethan Bravo of the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial paid a visit in costume, with several pioneer instruments to help set the stage. Those interested in learning more about pioneer life are welcome to visit LBNM’s living historical farm this week, where interns will be hosting activities for all ages between the hours of 10 a.m. to noon.
Man Arrested After Assaulting Driver, Hitting Him with Car, and Causing Severe Injuries
ST. CROIX — A man who allegedly tailgated and then assaulted another man, who was falsely accused of driving a stolen vehicle, is now facing several charges in court.. According to court documents, early last Friday morning, police officers were dispatched to investigate a reported disturbance in the Beeston Hill area of Christiansted. As they were leaving the Ancilmo Marshall police station, they saw a man walking towards them with what appeared to be blood on his face. He informed them that he had been hit by a vehicle near the Beeston Hill gym, prompting the officers to summon emergency medical services to assist him.
