Cloverport reminds poultry owners to get permits
The city of Cloverport is reminding poultry owners in town to get their 2024-2025 permits. According to city ordinance, residents may keep poultry, provided they are kept or housed outside of a habitable structure in a chicken/duck enclosure (pen, run, and the like) that must include a covered coop structure. The enclosure must provide a minimum of four square feet per animal up to a maximum size of 50 feet by 50 feet with the coop contained within the enclosure.

Dubois County Museum hosts Car Show August 11
The Dubois County Museum will host their fifth Annual Car Show on Sunday, August 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the museum at 2704 N. Newton Street in Jasper. The show will be held in the shady area and parking lot behind the museum, rain or shine. Registration is from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The cost is $15 per vehicle the day of the show or $10 per pre-registered vehicle. Pre-registration forms are due by August 5. They are available at the museum or on the Facebook page.

Neighbor’s Dispute Over Barking Dog Leads To Shooting, Arrest
ST. CROIX, In. (07/07/24) – A dispute between Perry County, Indiana neighbors over a barking dog ended with one person shot and another charged in the shooting. Indiana State Police said it happened late Sunday night in the St. Croix area. A preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police revealed 32-year-old Tyler Richardson confronted his neighbors about the barking dog. During the confrontation, Richardson allegedly shot 32-year-old James Morris of Tell City, who was walking toward the property line. Morris was taken to Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, then to University of Louisville Hospital. Richardson was lodged in the Perry County Detention Center on charges including attempted murder, aggravated battery and criminal recklessness.
