JASPER, Ind. (WEVV) — Strassenfest half-pot tickets will kick off this Friday, as the annual event in August, celebrates Jasper's "German Flair on the Square." It’s Vacation Bible School season, and Rockport’s Gospel Mission Church completed its “Soul Survivor” VBS program Friday after a busy week of faith and fun. Thursday’s event began with a skit in which actors portrayed the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River. Classes throughout the rest of the evening focused on this story of the Bible, and elaborated on John the Baptist and his role in the Christian Bible, as well as Christ’s subsequent 40 days and nights in the desert.

Cops Cycling For Survivors will make trip through Indiana in memory of fallen officers
EVANSVILLE, Indiana (WEVV) — Two area fallen law-enforcement officers will be honored this month by a yearly traveling tradition by a statewide honor bike cyclists. Cops Cycling for Survivors annual bike ride will start in Indianapolis on Monday, July 8th. The 23rd annual ride will go through Indiana, riding in memory of Indiana’s fallen law enforcement heroes and letting the survivors know they aren’t forgotten.

The world-famous Heeler sisters, Bluey and Bingo, paid a visit to Chrisney and Dale libraries Tuesday afternoon on a brief visit from Down Under. The stars of the hit educational cartoon, Bluey, welcomed a large crowd of devoted fans (including parents) at both libraries. The visit was made possible by Feller Express of Evansville, who also regularly host dinosaur encounters throughout the region.

ST. CROIX — A man was arrested following a reported domestic violence incident in which he allegedly used a sword to assault his partner. According to court documents, a woman turned up at a police station last Friday morning to report that Reynaldo Rivera had assaulted her following an argument. She said that she had confronted him about his lack of cleanliness around the house, and things escalated into a physical altercation.
