In April, Durango’s Christopher Blevins was just minutes from the finish of the opening mountain bike World Cup race of the season in Mairiporã, Brazil. With less than half a lap remaining, the 26-year-old sprinted into the lead and managed to ride to the win two short seconds ahead of his competition. He raised his arms and punched the air in celebration of his second-career World Cup Cross-country Olympic victory that would help him secure a spot on Team USA’s roster for the Paris Olympic Games.

ADEQ: Drinking water not threatened by gasoline released from Circle K
CHINO VALLEY, Ariz. — Drinking water in the Chino Valley area does not appear to be threatened by a fuel release reported by Circle K earlier this year. An estimated 86,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline was reportedly released into the environment from a Circle K underground storage tank in Chino Valley. The release occurred over a period of about 18 days and was caused by a faulty component of the submersible turbine pump.
Circle K, nonprofit team up on emergency kits

Flood Watch in Effect for Central and Southwest New Mexico. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Flood Watch that remains in effect from Friday afternoon through Friday evening. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible across the Manzano and Sandia Mountains. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may also occur in areas with poor drainage and urban settings.
