Queen Anne’s County Public Schools Board of Education approved a 15-cent per meal price increase and 5-cent per milk carton price increase for the 2024-2025 school year at their June 26 meeting. Summerville Man Dies in Fireworks Accident on Fourth of July
A Summerville man tragically lost his life in a fireworks-related incident during a Fourth of July celebration. Allen Ray McGrew, 41, succumbed to injuries sustained when a large firework device he placed on his head exploded. Dorchester County Sheriff's Office deputies and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene in the Crestwood subdivision around 10:23 p.m., where they discovered McGrew with severe head trauma.

Motorcyclist killed in Fourth of July crash struck vehicle making U-turn: police
LOTHIAN, Md. - A 23-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash in Anne Arundel County on the Fourth of July died after striking a vehicle that was making a U-turn, police said. Police identified the motorcyclist as 23-year-old Noah Allen Lee of Dunkirk.
