Costly mowing service spurs Maynard to go diesel

The item which took most of the council members' attention was a switch on what type of new mower City Superintendent Dan Howard would be authorized to purchased. In June the council had approved the purchase of a gasoline powered mower. At that time the understanding was that the new machine would be delivered within a couple of weeks. The dealer where the purchase was made informed Howard that there would be a delay in obtaining the mower. Howard informed the council Monday evening that the machine was not going to be available for pick up until sometime in August.
