Sr. Barbara James, age 82, of the Sisters of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died on July 18, 2024, at the Motherhouse in Oldenburg. Born December 11, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the youngest of four children born to Arthur and Ruth (nee:Tillinghost) James. Her father was a salesman, and her mother was a housewife.

Global power solutions provider Cummins Inc. plans to convert its operations in Columbus, Indiana. The $150 million project is expected to create approximately 250 jobs. The company will convert 360,000 square feet of manufacturing space at its existing engine plant to expand production of battery packs, powertrain systems and other battery-electric vehicle components for Accelera by Cummins, the company’s zero-emissions business segment.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Legal Aid District 11 says it will hold a walk-in clinic this Tuesday, July 23, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Bartholomew County Public Library, in Columbus. The Legal Aid Clinic/Pro Bono program utilizes local volunteer attorneys, offering free legal consultations to low-income individuals for the provision of legal advice and assistance in furtherance of equal access to justice within the community who might not otherwise be able to afford the counsel of an attorney.
